Are you one of those women who always questions herself if she made the most out of her day? 2020 has been a challenging year for most of us. If it gave you frustrations and guilts because of unmet schedules and unaccomplished goals, then in 2021, you need to be more self-aware of how you spend your days.
Below are five ways to help you maximize your day and create balance in your life. With these tips, accomplishing daily obligations is more attainable and makes you a day or more ahead of your schedule.
Plan ahead of time.
Planning your tasks is one of the best ways that keep you aware of your daily responsibilities.
Writing down your tasks or using productivity apps will help you accomplish the things needed on a specific day and time. Plus, with just a scan away and something to notify you, there’ll be no chance for you to forget your tasks at hand.
In planning, you may include the tasks you do from the beginning of the day until it ends. I found out that I am able to finish my work ahead of time, I had more time to rest or do what I wanted to do when I follow my pre-planned schedule.
Establish routines.
Routines and habits are the best results of religiously following your pre-planned daily tasks. If you repeatedly do the same tasks at a specific time in a day, your body develops the instinct to perform the same tasks all over again the following days. Routines provide you the sense of continuously moving towards productivity and lessen the possibility of procrastinating yourself from accomplishing tasks in a short time.
Prioritize what is necessary.
This is one of the things that you need to consider when working with your day. You need to identify which tasks are of most priority and what needs to be accomplished right away and which ones could wait for some time. Identifying your tasks according to their importance will help you meet schedules and avoid unhealthy stress. It’s a matter of what you put first in your time. As said by Laura Vanderkam at TED, “Time is highly elastic, we cannot make more time, but time will stretch to accommodate what we choose to put into it.” You need to be conscious of how you use your time because there are things that you put into your time that is considered, ‘I don’t have time tasks or not a priority.’
Say ‘No’ to unimportant disruption.
Disruptions are inevitable, and it’s a challenge for most of us. There will be unexpected disruptions in the form of a thing, an animal, or a person that will cause a delay in accomplishing tasks. The best solution to this is to be clear about your goals and never feel guilty about saying no when there is a need to do so.
Self-reflect every day.
A time spent going over the day’s events is the part where you can evaluate how effective you’ve been in accomplishing your daily goals. Tracking down the activities undergone helps you acknowledge if effort and energy are given and used in the best way. Always remember to take a break and celebrate your wins.
The bottom line here is that if you’re organized and well-disciplined, you can be more productive and meet your set goals. Our determination and mindset push us to do the things that we need to do. Besides, a bright, bold, and beautiful woman is in charge of her precious time.
