How To Make Your Airbnb Business Stand Out!
- Nira Macaspac

Airbnb is a popular online platform that allows people to lease or rent lodging for a short period of time. It is also known as a “vacation home rental” and “short-term rental” listed online. There are many types of short-term rentals on the Airbnb platform; they range from apartments, condos, bedrooms, air mattresses, single detached homes, and even tree houses. Listing your home or room as a host can be a win-win for both hosts and guests when done right. You get to make some extra cash, and travelers save money and stay conveniently around your area by staying at your home.
When Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia started the idea of ‘Air Bed and Breakfast’ in 2007 in San Francisco, they just wanted to make it a side hustle to pay for their rent. Today, Airbnb is a billion-dollar company operating in more than 191 countries and 81,000 cities worldwide. The soaring popularity of Airbnb worldwide is proof of the company’s success.
After the pandemic, the hospitality industry is back and booming, thanks to the gig-sharing economy! With more Covid related research prevention coming out and fewer threats, tourists are excited to get out of their places and travel once again. So, if you’re planning to have your place rented, now is the best time to start.

Airbnb offers a fantastic opportunity to turn your empty space into a year-round source of income. It lets you meet new people, make the most of real estate investing, and turn your rental property into a money-making machine. But with so much competition and tons of listings online, how can you create an eye-catching presence and make your Airbnb Business stand out? As an Airbnb Superhost myself, here are some suggestions I’d like to share with you that will make your Airbnb listing stand out:
Create a Beautiful and Comfortable Environment

Make sure your space is clean and presentable. Invest in quality pieces of furniture, towels, and sheets. Keeping your area clean and well-maintained is essential to being a great host.
Make sure your home feels comfortable and inviting as guests will spend a lot of time in your listing. Furnish your rental with comfy and chic furniture and décor. Consider what your guests will need during their stay, like chairs, a couch, a desk, a dresser, a coffee table, and a bed. Make sure everything is in good condition and has no stains or rips.
Add personal touches like plants, books, and decorative accents to make your place more attractive to potential guests. It’s also a good idea to make your place Instagram-ready so guests can proudly take pictures of their staycation and share them on social media. Guests posting pictures of your lovely home is a free promotion that will make others curious and attract more potential guests.
Provide the essential conveniences

Items such as a hygienic kit, toilet paper, drinking water, coffee, and tea are important for travelers. Make sure to include them on your complimentary items so guests won’t have to look for these essentials when they’re at your place. Your complimentary items should consist of essential toiletries and consumables for the convenience of your guests. These will also help make them feel comfortable and welcome during their stay.
Use great photos to attract guests

Guests go straight to your photos when they look at your listing. Good-quality, well-lighted, and greatly captured images help you get bookings. Highlight key features in your space, amenities, and other places nearby. Please take note of your Airbnb cover photo, you should want it to be a photo of your most attractive room/space where your guest will be spending a lot of time in. Make your pictures stand out because, let’s admit it, guests judge a listing by its cover! It needs to attract eyes and clicks! Great photos = More Bookings.
Respond to inquiries quickly

Be accommodating and respond to inquiries quickly. This will show your guests that you’re interested in hosting them. If you want to attract guests, be responsive and friendly. If you’re too busy and can’t monitor your messages constantly and respond to them within a few hours, you can hire a property manager or co-host to take care of your inquiries and bookings. Poor communication and customer service could lead to bad reviews and missed bookings, so make sure you communicate with your guests respectfully and address inquiries and issues quickly.
Price your listing appropriately

When pricing your Airbnb, it is crucial to strike a balance. A price that’s too high can make the guests look elsewhere, but too low of a price could mean you’re not making as much money as you should be. To determine the right price for your Airbnb rental, it’s essential to do your research. Look for similar properties in your area and see how much they charge. Also, keep an eye on the market and make sure your price is in line with current trends. You may also need to adjust your pricing if there are special events in your area. Here’s a good tip: a price slightly lower than your competitors can make a difference. Lowering your price a little bit can lead to the top of a search boost, even a small price decrease of $10. This will attract clicks and make your customers feel your property is a good deal!
The best way to figure out hospitality is to be a guest! Next time you take a trip, use Airbnb and take note of the things you liked and didn’t like. What did the host do that went above and beyond your expectations? What could they have done better? Take note of these things, get great ideas, do your research, and apply them to your listing. Consider what makes your Airbnb rental home unique and highlight those features in your description. These tips and exceptional customer service will surely give you a wonderful hosting experience and make your Airbnb home stand out! Happy Hosting!
